Target delivery services expand through the Midwest

Delivery services Shipt and Drive Up, which operate under market giant Target, will be expanding in Midwestern markets. A recent announcement from Target’s corporate offices detailed that the expansion process will begin in Chicago, which will receive the delivery capabilities immediately. Expanding infrastructures will then be followed up in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin. “We set out this year with an ambitious plan to bring Target guests nationwide more ways to shop on their terms,” said John Mulligan, Target’s chief operating officer. “Our guests are enjoying the convenience of these new delivery and pickup services as we’re working to redefine the Target Run and make Target America’s easiest place to shop.” Both delivery options are intended to cut time off customers’ busy days. Shipt gives Target customers the ability to receive same-day delivery for groceries, while Drive Up serves as a speedy order system where Target workers bring out online orders to guests’ vehicles. “Target guests throughout the Midwest and Southeast are going to love Shipt and the other convenient services that Target is expanding,” said Bill Smith, Shipt’s founder and CEO. “With a Shipt membership—an unbeatable value at less than $2 per week for the year—Target guests can have groceries and essentials delivered right to their kitchen. Our Shipt Shoppers ensure a positive and personalized experience—it’s what members love most about Shipt.” Shipt is expected to be in some 130 markets by the end of the month, giving consumers the option to get most any of Target’s wide array of groceries and home items delivered that same day. By 2019, the company said same-day delivery will be applicable to all its product categories.
